Likely you are familiar with the meme “Sad Keanu”. I would like to propose a new one: Wise Keanu.
I will be the first one to tell you that I have only seen 5 of his films – soon to be six as I await the John Wick Parabellum to be released. I would argue that Keanu Reeves is more performer (indeed, a dancer in my estimation) than actor.
But the man is adorable and gracious and generous and kind. He always gives credit where credit is due (particularly his stunt team) and treats his sensei (in fighting, gun-fu, horseback riding) with great respect. We never hear a sore word about him and he lives a quiet life, motorbikes notwithstanding.
He enjoys life and can be a bit goofy.
Which is why in Keanu’s recent interview with Stephen Colbert, Stephen and myself were caught off-guard (9:48m).
“What do you think will happen to us when we die?” asked Colbert, half in jest.
“I know the ones who love us will miss us.”
